The Animal Care Network volunteers are on the streets every day checking on dogs and cats, doing water patrol.

During this hot weather, so, so many dogs do not have water.

We stopped to check on a dog this weekend in a doghouse in the middle of the backyard with no shade, no water, nothing.

The owner would not even come to the door, just yelled from the inside for us to leave, that she did not need anything. This is absolutely infuriating.

These addresses are reported to the authorities even though we do our best to talk to the owners, educate, educate and pass out hot weather tips.

This is a no-brainer, if you are hot, they are hot, if you are thirsty, they are thirsty.

Please keep your eyes out for dogs and cats in trouble and report to your local animal control or police agency.  It is a matter of life and death!
***Don’t forget to keep your bird baths full and leave out little bowls of clean fresh water for the birds and wildlife!!
