The Animal Care Network is extremely serious about spay and neuter. We understand that this is the key to decrease the pet overpopulation and decrease the number of homeless dogs and cats. How can everyone reach the degree of “no kill” if the backyard, intentional and accidental breeding is still out of control?
If we can stop the next generation from being born, then we are definitely contributing to everyone’s goal of No More Homeless Pets.
If we only adopt out dogs and cats that are spayed and neutered regardless of age, then we are again contributing to the solution, not adding to the problem.
The Animal Care Network volunteers are on the streets everyday promoting spay and neuter, educating the community about spay and neuter and passing out literature about spay and neuter.
We reported our numbers of February spay/neuters to World Spay Day and are very proud to say that we were able to get 95 dogs and cats fixed from our target areas. Again we thank our collaborations with Michigan Animal Rescue League, All About Animals, Ross Hospital for Animals and Michigan Humane Society for making this happen. We also thank all of our volunteers for promoting spay neuter while on the streets!
Since February was spay and neuter awareness month and the 20th anniversary of World Spay Day. Our organization posted over forty posters, slogans, flyers, articles, informational items,
resources to help spay and neuter, reasons to spay and neuter and real life stories (both happy and sad) on our facebook page during the month. YOU NAME IT WE POSTED IT IN HONOR OF AWARENESS MONTH!!
We were saddened and disappointed to see that their were not many likes or shares when it was about spay and neuter. The highest post received 37 likes and that was one that featured a litter of dead and dying parvo puppies that were picked up on an ACN run.
PLEASE EVERYONE, WE HAVE TO TAKE THIS SERIOUSLY, WE HAVE TO PROMOTE SPAY AND NEUTER NOT ONLY TO DECREASE THE PET OVERPOPULATION, BUT FOR HEALTH AND TEMPERAMENT REASONS!!!!!
HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT SPAYING AND NEUTERING?
Here are some recipients that took advantage of the program and believe in spay neuter!!!
