February 20, 2014: Rocky

Rocky’s owners were very interested in getting him neutered but did not have much money. They had brought him to the Animal Care Network vaccine clinic and his owner’s had picked up a flyer about spay neuter and called the next week.

Rocky was neutered at no charge through one of our grants.

Even though we do not like to see dogs living outside 24/7, Rocky’s situation is so much better than most. They built him a large pen with a sturdy, elevated doghouse which they keep filled with straw. He is not on a chain and even has elevated food and water bowls. The teams have checked on him periodically and he ALWAYS has food and water and they do bring him inside at night when cold.

Since a huge percentage of the dogs that ACN visits are living outdoors, many in pretty dire situations, we have to say that
Rocky is better taken care of than most. If there must be an outdoor situation, this is one of the good ones.

Rocky’s weight is always good and he is a healthy friendly guy. Once again, even though the owner’s had no intention of breeding him, they chose to do the right thing and get him neutered.

IT ONLY TAKES A MINUTE FOR AN “ACCIDENT” TO HAPPEN!!

It seems like there are a lot of “accidents” happening every day in our line of work right?

People that scour Craig’s List are continuously hearing about the accidental litters. Well if you are not breeding, why not get them fixed???

Please help us continue to help animals, like Rocky, and their families with the spaying and neutering costs by donating. $80.00 spays or neuters a healthy dog and $40.00 spays or neuters a healthy cat at All About Animals Low cost spay/neuter clinic.

Thank you for your continued support!
