The Animal Care Network is very fortunate to have volunteers Dawn and Sue.
These gals go out every single week and somehow end up with all of the bizarre and unusual addresses and welfare checks. They manage to find a way to deal with
each and every situation and problem that they come in contact with. Whether is be contacting the authorities, contacting animal control, finding an emergency veterinarian, these two are amazing at trouble shooting and problem solving. They have an amazing knack for communicating with people and getting through to people in almost every situation!
Here are just some of the examples of what these two have run into…
Checking out vacant buildings for live animals, but finding only the remains of dead ones
Checking out strange set ups that may be housing animals inhumanely
Checking out a call for an exotic cat sighting
Picking up dying animals and finding somewhere to have them humanely euthanized to end their suffering and also dealing with the families with compassion
Checking out injured animals for owners with no means to get them to the vet and no transportation
Educating and convincing people to get their dogs and cats spayed and neutered and being extremely patient with people that are not to easy to deal with
We don’t call them the Special Ops team for nothing!!!!
Thank you again Sue and Dawn!!
