January 14, 2013: Hennessey update

In October we had told the story of Hennessy who had a severely embedded
rope completely around his neck and had to be euthanised due to the severity of
his injuries and infection. This address has a long history of animal neglect and
abuse, the veterinarian that saw Hennessy was furious about his condition so we
forwarded all the information, pictures and veterinary report to Oakland County
Animal Control to pursue animal cruelty charges. At the time we rescued Hennessy
they still had 4 dogs on the property, one of the other dogs had an extension cord
around his neck.

As far as we know to date nothing has been done, in November we received more
calls from upset neighbors that one of the dogs had puppies and some were lying
dead in the yard. We again reported this to Oakland County and asked the caller
to do the same

Last week we received another call about a young puppy tied out in the freezing
cold with no shelter. We again reported this to Oakland County and asked the caller
to do the same.

We do not want to forget what happened to poor Hennessy and this blatant animal
abuse should not be tolerated. The people that were responsible for this should
be held accountable.
