July 18, 2015: About Volunteering

Sadly this is how many of us animal welfare volunteers feel, why we always have
such a hard time saying no or taking a break or time for ourselves………….

“I have seen many volunteers quit when the emotional burden becomes too overwhelming.
Those of us who stay are constantly overwhelmed, yet will never quit.  If we quit, even for a day, even for a moment, there will be no one looking out for these animals and they will suffer”. Hanna Gibson

This is a broken dog (body and spirit) that we rescued on a day that we were not even
planning on going out, on a day that we were going to take off, on a day that we were going
to take a break. And on that day, we saved this dog, Chad, from an awful fate.
