October 22, 2014: Loca – Lost Injured Dog, ACN Sue and Dawn to the Rescue

The Animal Care Network had Loca spayed over 3 years ago when she was a puppy. Well recently, Loca got spooked when she was let out to go to the bathroom….her owners could not find her anywhere,
it was dark and they were up all night looking for her.

Little did they know, Loca had been hit by a car, was injured, scared to death, so scared she was hiding. They searched for her all week, put posters up everywhere. Did everything, offered a reward and had search parties to find her.

Well the following weekend Sue and Dawn were out on an ACN run and they saw this white dog that ran on three legs, hobble under a patch of bushes. The dog was so frightened and they could not get close to her didn’t want to chase her away, so they called me. I immediately knew that it was Loca and contacted the owners , they were there within minutes. Loca came hobbling out of the bushes to her hysterical yet happy owners. They immediately rushed her to the veterinarian. Thanks to Wilson Veterinarian who worked with the owners, Loca had surgery and is recovering wonderfully. It is quite amazing how they repaired her leg. Wilson Vet is awesome!!!

We stopped to check on her the other day and she is doing great!

Thanks Sue and Dawn…talk about being at the right place at the right time!!!! Great job, eyes and ears are always alert on ACN runs!!!!
