November 13, 2014: Sue’s Rescue – Betty

The Animal Care Network dispatch phone received a call stating they needed a dog picked up immediately that they could no longer keep.

Thankfully our volunteer Sue was available and went to pick up Betty, after being taken on a wild goose chase to several different addresses. The owners had absolutely nothing nice to say about this emaciated, dehydrated, adorable little dog. She had been used as a breeder dog and had been passed from home to home, at least five that we know of.

They stated that Betty would not eat, however when arriving at her foster home, devoured her dinner and drank water like it was the last bowl on earth. Once getting her strength back and feeling better, Betty even started “waving” to show us how happy she was to be rescued!!

She turned out to be a fabulous little dog and we are thankful that the Michigan Animal Rescue League took her into their adoption program. Betty was nursed back to health, cleaned up, spayed and was adopted into a wonderful home!!

Thanks Sue and Michigan Animal Rescue League. Another fantastic job!
