March 14, 2014: The Forgotten Beagles

In our target areas, we run across Beagles and hunting dogs that are living in very sad conditions. This winter, we cannot figure out how some of them survived outside 24/7.

We have visited multiple address with these poor hunting dogs. They too, will not be brought inside. Many times we feel the only way they didn’t freeze to death is they have each other to keep warm, that is for the ones that are not chained up.

These dogs are not companions, they are for hunting only. Many of them are so fearful and are manhandled and abused by their owners.

Their nails are long, their feet are sore (the ones that are kept in coops) and the pens are filled with feces.

They are isolated and lonely and some of the sweetest dogs you will ever meet.

No wonder so many of them run away when they are taken out hunting.

It is very disturbing and very sad.
