December 8, 2013: ACN Frigid Winter Weekend

The Animal Care Network teams were out all day Friday, Saturday and Sunday checking
on dogs and cats, rescuing animals, delivering doghouses and straw and trying to educate
the community on the cold weather and passing out literature. We even had the Oakland
Press do a ride-along and Channel 7 WXYZ met us for a interview about our organization
and the cold weather.

The teams made nearly 200 visits, wellness checks and assisted well over 200 dogs and
cats.

Fortunately more dogs were inside this weekend than the past two weekends! Dozens more
appointments are also being made for spay and neuter after this weekend!!

All doghouses were stuffed with straw, houses put on pallets, dog and cat food distributed
to pet owners, cold weather tips handed out and owners were talked to…

Any and all problems addresses were reported to Oakland County Animal Control, who
responds to every single address as quickly as they can. As you can imagine they are
flooded with calls every single hour of every single day to check on animals all over the county
that are being left out in the cold weather.

So a big thank you to our friends at Oakland County Animal Control and Animal Care Center for their partnership, hard work and quick response time!

Thanks to the entire team! TOGETHER EVERYONE ACCOMPLISHES MORE!

Great job everyone! Your dedication and devotion to the animals is greatly appreciated!
