Members of the non-profit Animal Care Network stepped up to help after neighbors at the Sherwood Valley Mobile Home Community in Canton told Fox 2 that ten cats – including several kittens – were abandoned and left to fend for themselves in a vacant trailer. The couple that lived in the trailer moved out weeks ago, but left the animals behind. Sadly, one kitted died before help arrived.”I can’t handle this no more,” said neighbor Coleen Shipman. “This is outrageous.”

Shipman is frustrated. Day after day she was forced to listen to the sad meows coming from inside. Ten cats were left behind, forced to survive without any human help. With anyone to clean up, their feces also piled up causing an almost unbearable stench.

“The conditions are beyond belief,” Shipman told Fox 2’s Ronnie Dahl.
