Low-cost pet vaccinations available

Published: Thursday, September 23, 2010The Animal Care Network and the City of Pontiac are hosting a low-cost vaccine clinic for dogs and cats Saturday, Oct. 9.

The cost is $10 per animal. Vaccines available include distemper/parvovirus for puppies and dogs 6 weeks or older; distemper CVR for kittens and cats 6 weeks or older; rabies (one year) for dogs and cats 3 months or older; and deworming available for puppies and kittens.

Residents from any city or county are welcome to bring pets for vaccines.

The clinic is offered from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Centerstage Rental Hall & QTMC Inc., 536 N. Perry in Pontiac. Centerstage is near Glenwood, between Wide Track and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.

Animal Care Network is a group of volunteers who dedicate their time providing rescue, welfare checks, assistance, education, low cost vaccines, spay-neuter, and food to pet owners. It is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that has been providing a community service in low-income areas of Wayne and Oakland County since 1994.
