Several local businesses have answered the call of the Animal Care Network, which recently reported that it was running out of food and supplies for the street team that works in Pontiac and Inkster.

Although $4,000 has been raised, it will take $40,000 to cover the cost of just getting through the winter. Thankfully, Aleta Sill’s Bowling World and Teknicolor Paints have stepped up to collect dog and cat food and supplies.

“The Volunteers of the ACN do amazing work (work that most of us would have a very hard time doing) and all they want is the supplies they need to help the animals. That’s where we can help. If we each just contribute something, together we can make a world of difference to help these animals in need. My hat is off to the volunteers of MAAN / ACN,” said Michelle Mullen, co-owner of Aleta Sill’s Bowling World.

Teknicolor Paints will collect food and supplies through Nov. 30, 2010. Aleta Sill’s Bowling World will collect until Dec. 17, 2010. For more information, please contact Pam Porteous, Animal Care Network Manager, at 248-678-2756 or visit http://www.mi-aan.org.
